Nina Ziv - Filmmaker, Director, Editor, Drone Operator
born in Kibbutz Sasa, Israel. In 2012 I left Israel to travel the world, visited numerous countries in Europe and Southeast Asia before choosing to stay in Iceland for about three years.
In 2016 i got accepted to Maharishi International University (MIU) in Fairfield, Iowa, and moved to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Sustainable Living. After two years i discovered my passion for filmmaking, and switched my major to Media and Sustainability.
During my time in school i learned how to be an independent filmmaker and created a variety of videos. i graduated as Valedictorian in June, 2020, with a BA in Media and Sustainability.
my largest project is the documentary film "Buay", telling the story of Buay Tang, a South Sudanese refugee longing to reunite with his family after over twenty years of separation. The Film received "Best Documentary", "Best Editing", and is a finalist for "Best Music" awards at Across the Globe Film Festival (Sweden), and an "Official Selection" for Out of Africa International Film Festival (Kenya), Social Impact Film and Art Festival (Canada), and The Iowa Motion Picture Awards (IA, USA).
After graduation, i worked for one year as a videographer and a video editor for the Distant Education department at MIU, filming and editing online courses.
These days i'm working as an independent videographer, photographer and editor in Israel while also looking into expanding my career and getting involved mainly with socio-environmental related projects through filming, editing, and as a drone operator.
